Super Easy Puff Stitch Flower




This super-easy to make puff stitch flower can be added to any of your crochet crafts to add a little cuteness and style to whatever it is you are making! This takes only a very small amount of yarn and ten minutes at the most! I hope you enjoy making this flower as much as I enjoyed coming up with it!

Everything you need to know before getting started

Puff Stitch

The puff stitch is rather easy, but let me walk you through it step by step if you have never done it before! Hopefully after reading this, you will be an expert :) Pictures included.

Yarn over and insert hook into stitch
Grab working yarn and pull up a loop
Yarn over again and insert hook into same stitch
Grab working yarn and pull up another loop
Yarn over and pull through ALL loops on hook
Chain one to lock in the puff stitch

And thats all there really is to it! I took some pictures of what the final product looked like after doing a row of puff stitches:



What size are these flowers?
These flowers measure just under 3across.
Materials Used:

Yarn:
Worsted weight (4)
Hook:
5.0 mm (H)
Extras:
Scissors, tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

Ch: chain
Ch sp: chain space
Sl st: slip stitch
St: stitch
Yo: yarn over


Pattern for puff stitch flower:

Foundation: Ch 4. Join with sl st to 1st chain
Row 1: Ch 1. Does not count as a stitch. Repeat the following step 6 times: 1 puff stitch plus ch 1. Join with sl st to top of 1st puff stitch
Row 2: sl st over to 1st ch sp. Add 3 puff stitches to chain space. Sl st to the same stitch. Sl st over to next ch sp. Repeat all the way around: (1 sl st + 3 puff stitches + 1 sl st) into all remaining ch sp. Sl st to very first puff stitch.
Finish: Ch 1 then cut working yarn. Pull through with crochet hook to secure, then tighten and fasten. Weave in ends!
